Sudbury East OPP Detachment Board


The Police Board provides civilian oversight of OPP policing services in the Municipality of French River. The board ensures policing priorities align with community needs, oversees the police budget, and works collaboratively with the OPP detachment commander to set local policing priorities.

Appear Before the Board (Delegation)  

The Sudbury East OPP Detachment Board welcomes public input through delegations at its meetings. If you wish to speak at a meeting, please review the following guidelines:

Who Can Present a Delegation?

  • Delegations must relate to an agenda item and fall within the Board’s jurisdiction.
  • Each delegation is limited to one (1) agenda item per meeting and must remain focused on the topic.
  • A maximum of two (2) delegations per meeting will be permitted.
  • Promotional or commercial presentations will not be heard.

Time Limits & Speaking Rules

  • Each delegation has 10 minutes to present, followed by a 5-minute question period for Board members.
  • Clarifying questions from Board members are allowed, but debate is not permitted during the delegation period.
  • Delegations may not directly question or debate Board members or staff.

How to Request a Delegation?

Requests must be submitted in writing (email or hard copy) to the Board Secretary by 12:00 p.m. two (2) business days before the meeting and must include:
✅ Full name(s) of speaker(s)
✅ Affiliation/organization (if applicable)
✅ Agenda item being addressed
✅ Brief summary of the presentation
✅ Any supporting materials for the agenda package
