French River Senior Housing Project

The French River Senior Housing Project is progressing steadily, bringing us closer to providing much-needed housing for residents aged 55 and older. The 30-unit facility, featuring one- and two-bedroom suites, is designed to offer independent living at affordable rates.

Teneant Application Package

The tenant application package will be available in February 2025. Descon will be at the Municipal Office on February 25th and 26th to assist applicants with filling out applications by appointment only.

Tenant Selection & Governance

A not-for-profit board will oversee operations, and the property manager (Descon) will handle tenant applications and selection details.

Rental Rates

Once financing details are finalized, rental rates will be confirmed. The Board is currently negotiating mortgage rates to determine the final costs. Current estimated rates are:

One-Bedroom Unit: $ 1,455 - $ 1,550
Two-Bedroom Unit: $ 1,655 - $ 1,750

Tenants will be responsible for their appliances. Rates do not include utilities or parking fees. More details will be provided in the Tenant Handbook when applications are available. The facility is expected to be ready in Fall 2025.
