Municipal Services Public Works Minimum Highway Maintenance Standards

Please visit the Ontario Good Roads website to view the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Highways.  The minimum standards can be found under Ontario Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act, 2001.
 
The classes of roads within the Municipality of French River are:

Class 4 - Provincial Highways maintained by the Ministry of Transportation
Class 5 - Roadways with a posted speed of 80 Km/h (or less) and less than 999 cars per day
Class 6 - Roadways with a posted speed of 80 Km/h (or less) and less than 49 motor vehicles per day
 
Below are the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Patrolling Frequency, Snow Accumulation and Ice Formation Prevention and Icy Roadways.  Although these are the Minimum Standards set out by Provincial Legislation, the Municipality of French River tries to adhere to a higher standard than the provincial minimum.  

 

PATROLLING FREQUENCY (As set out in the Minimum Maintenance Standards)

5 once every 30 days
